Day 3

Saturday 23rd April
At last! Children’s Day! And what a day. We started early, as we had a whole day of rehearsals in the brand new 5000 seat auditorium at the Expo 2016 Centre in Antalya! It was opening day for the Expo, so the atmosphere was amazing! We rehearsed in front of the TV cameras, watched all the other 30 countries rehearse, and we made lots of friends from around the world! And then show time came and the live broadcast began! We had contacted family, friends and colleagues at home and as far away as Brazil, all watching live online. We knew as the texts kept coming! Elizabeth even did a live interview at the table! And then we went onstage! What a moment! The dance went well and the audience loved it. We watched the rest of the show, which ended with an awesome performance by dozens of Turkish children and young people. Then we all piled onstage – literally hundreds from around the world, and the confetti came down.
We waited outside for our bus and did some busking, singing our songs with the guitar. The passers by on their way home loved it! We got back late – well after dark, tired but very proud and happy! Tomorrow – another live show at the Expo, a chance to show our second dance!
